SERMON SERIES: ELECT EXILES - A STUDY THROUGH THE BOOK OF 1 PETER
Sunday Morning Worship Service (January-May), 10-11 a.m.

On the heels of a season of preaching through a few necessary mini-series' (Evangelism; Life On Life Discipleship; Advent), we plan to spend January through May in a longer series through the book of 1 Peter.

The book of 1 Peter is a theological deep dive dictated by one of the most important figures in church history. The Apostle Peter has a lot to tell Christians who are living as “aliens and strangers” in a foreign land about how to live a Christ-centered life in Christian community and in godless society.

In addition there is much to consider in terms of hope for the future and persecution in the present. The letter offers hope for weary Christians who need to withstand worldly ridicule by recognizing that they are elected for the purpose of holiness.

THE BOOK OF HEBREWS

From January through May, our adult Sunday School class will be going through the book of Hebrews, making use of an excellent lay-level commentary, Hebrews for You: An Anchor for the Soul, written by theologian Dr. Michael Kruger.

Most Exodus members and regular attenders have committed to be part of Life on Life discipleship groups. These groups meet on different days and times of the week:

CHILDREN’S DISCIPLESHIP: JESUS, WHAT A SAVIOR! (AGES 4-10)
Sunday Mornings (Sept.-May), 9-9:45 a.m.
Leaders: Megan Dunham & Chelsea Klunick

Our combined children’s discipleship class uses the curriculum Jesus, What a Savior! from Truth78.org. The goal of this resource is to help children understand that “they (like us) are helpless sinners, deserving of God’s eternal wrath. Children need to hear this truth so that they (like us) can turn to the perfect and only remedy - the free gift of salvation through Jesus the Savior.
